Visit New Orleans
The Crescent City knows how to rise to any festive occasion, and winter is no exception. Christmas at the Jackson Barracks promises a celebration like no other, and for the first time in 20 years the site will be open to the public on 6 and 7 December 2025. The event will have a lineup of Christmas performances, food vendors and much more.
No Christmas in New Orleans would be complete without the beloved tradition of carolling in Jackson Square. Every year, thousands gather around St Louis Cathedral, America’s oldest. The event is free to attend, with candles and carol sheets provided. Inside the grand cathedral, visitors are welcome to enjoy choral concerts set against the beautiful interiors.
Mouth-watering cuisine is at the heart of New Orleans, and there is no shortage during the festive season. Tennessee Vacation
Running between November and January, the Tennessee Whiskey Trail’s Carols and Barrels tour returns bigger and better than ever, spreading good cheer one whiskey at a time as visitors sample the best Tennessee has to offer. Celebrating its 40th festive season, Dollywood in Pigeon Forge is set to deliver an outstanding display as it does every year, set against the Smoky Mountains National Park, the most visited national park in the United States. Tupelo CVB, Mississippi

Explore Louisiana
Louisiana embraces the holiday season with historic traditions and spectacles, putting its own twist on festive favourites. Home to Bonfires on the Levee, this historic custom takes place all over Louisiana, most famously on Christmas Eve. Rooted in Cajun traditions, one origin theory of the bonfires credits French German settlers who wanted to guide arriving ships along the Mississippi River. Another must-do is the 99th Annual Natchitoches Christmas Festival, renowned for its family friendly fun and cultural traditions. At the start of January, Twelfth Night, falling twelve days after Christmas, marks the beginning of carnival season. Visit Tucson
Tucson is brimming with festive fun, and kicking off in December is the Downtown Parade of Lights. Brightly lit floats, live performances, and the wider community fill the streets, creating a celebration that locals and visitors alike look forward to each year. With great food, music and dazzling displays, it’s a highlight for all ages. For a unique festive holiday experience, Tucson’s sunny skies and warm winter weather makes for the perfect backdrop. The Christmas movie trail in Connecticut is a seasonal favourite, showcasing iconic backdrops featured in many holiday films.
